AfterWindow Company in Palmetto Estates, FL
Hale Windows & Doors is the window company Palmetto Estates homeowners call when their original 1950s and 60s aluminum frames have finally given out, or when a hurricane code update forces a retrofit. Palmetto Estates sits inside Miami-Dade’s High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, and the older concrete-block ranch homes here almost always need openings enlarged and reinforced before new impact windows go in. That changes the job from a simple swap to a structural retrofit, and it’s the kind of work we quote with a written price before anyone picks up a tool. Call (252) 675-6980 to schedule a free estimate.
Why Palmetto Estates Homes Are Different
Palmetto Estates is an unincorporated pocket east of US-1, and the housing stock tells the story. Most homes are single-story concrete-block ranches built between the 1950s and 1970s, and many still carry their original jalousie windows, aluminum awnings, or single-glazed steel casements. Those original openings were framed for lightweight glass, not for today’s code-mandated impact units. A standard window replacement in Palmetto Estates often means cutting the opening wider, adding a header, and strapping the new frame to the block, because Miami-Dade product approval requires the whole assembly to meet the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone standard, not just the glass.
Climate adds a second layer. Salt-laden air off Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic corrodes original aluminum frames and hardware faster here than inland. Year-round UV bleaches and weakens old seals. Wind-driven rain during hurricane season finds every gap. That’s why impact-rated glass, laminated glass, and corrosion-resistant hardware are the baseline in Palmetto Estates, not an upgrade. It’s also why a local technician starts every job here with NOA (Notice of Acceptance) numbers from Miami-Dade County, not just a tape measure.
Our Main Palmetto Estates Services
Most calls we take from Palmetto Estates fall into three areas: replacing windows that no longer meet code, repairing windows that still function but leak or stick, and replacing front doors that have warped or rusted past the point of repair.
Window Replacement in Palmetto Estates
Window replacement in Palmetto Estates almost always means a retrofit, not a same-size swap. Older concrete-block ranches have rough masonry openings and little header reinforcement, and today’s impact windows are heavier, so our crews routinely cut openings larger, reframe, and strap the new unit to the block. We work from Miami-Dade NOA numbers and pull permits when the job requires them. Every quote is written and itemized before any work starts, down to the exact glass package. Window Repair in Palmetto Estates
Repair is the right call for Palmetto Estates homes where a window still operates but leaks, fogs, or sticks from years of salt air and humidity. We replace failed seals, worn balances, corroded hardware, and cracked single panes, and we carry parts for most aluminum and vinyl frames common to the area. Every repair carries a written guarantee, and if the repair fails, the second visit is free. For details on what we fix and what it costs, see Window Repair in Palmetto Estates.
Front Door Replacement in Palmetto Estates
Front doors in Palmetto Estates take direct sun, salt, and hurricane-season rain. Original hollow-core and steel doors from the 1960s and 70s warp, rust, and lose their weatherstripping, which raises cooling bills and makes the door hard to lock. We replace them with impact-rated or reinforced doors from lines like Therma-Tru, and we address the rough masonry opening at the same time. The written price comes before the work, and the 365-Day Done Right Promise backs the finished job. See Front Door Replacement in Palmetto Estates for the full scope.

Prices in Palmetto Estates run higher than in newer parts of the county because of the structural work older block homes require and the Miami-Dade product-approval documentation that comes with every impact opening.
